Contemporary Glass Mosaics
About Instructor

This course is taught via Zoom. 4 sessions, October 14, 21, 28 & November 4, 2025.
Find inspiration in both the ancient art of mosaics and the form’s international modern-day movement as you are guided through the process of creating a contemporary glass mosaic.
Learn cutting techniques and embrace classical mosaic sensibilities, including the concept of andamento (the equivalent of the painter’s brushstroke in mosaic). Sessions focus on different aspects of mosaic fabrication techniques and feature works of well-known contemporary mosaic artists.
All skill levels are welcome. Beginners are required to purchase an instructor-designed kit ($69.95 plus applicable tax and shipping). The kits are available in four patterns. Ordering information is on the supply list, along with supplemental materials and tools. Please place orders no later than one week prior to the first class. Experienced and returning students may provide their own materials and design if they prefer.
If you are a returning student you may provide your own design and supply all materials. This class stresses the use of glass tiles or stained glass.

What past students have to say the Course and the Make it Mosaic Kits:
“The class was excellent. I loved having a kit to work with. I loved that Bonnie talked to us each week about our progress (and showed us each other’s work). I loved learning more about the art.”
“Yes and then some. I thought that using a kit might be akin to “paint by numbers”. But I was very wrong. The kit gave us structure to learn techniques before doing “our own thing.” It was a great class. I would definitely take another class with this teacher.”
“I really loved it. So much great information. Bonnie was very responsive to questions. I feel like I have a good basic understanding of mosaics now and am very eager to learn more and make more pieces. The class was very well run. I liked that we were free to improvise as we saw fit so our pieces were all original. I’m very happy I took the course.”
“The instructor was a professional and still open to helping beginners plus give facts on mosaics and I really enjoyed seeing her work and others she showed. I will really have a respect for persons who do mosaics from now on.”
