Mosaic Tapestry
About Instructor

Mixed Media meets traditional mosaic making. This is a great introduction to the ancient art of mosaics, with a contemporary twist! Participants make beautiful mosaic tapestries for interior display from a wide variety of materials. This may well be our most popular workshop and we only offer it once a year.
THIS IS A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY, MORE SUPPLIES THAN YOU CAN IMAGINE.
Create your original designs from a generous selection that includes glass and ceramic tiles, millefiori, filati, shiny glass, ball chain, costume jewelry, and beads. Participants may supplement the offerings with items such as Swarovski crystals, rhinestone chain, iridescent beads, sequined trims, and anything that sparks the imagination.
Your supply fee covers ALL the materials you will need, including properly prepared substrate, mortar adhesive, a MIND BLOWING AMOUNT of tessarae to choose from and tool loan as needed.
Our tapestries will measure 10″ x 6″.
Pre-colored thin-set mortar is used to adhere tesserae to a concrete setting bed, the finished tapestries are textural and remain ungrouted. No experience necessary and experienced mosaic artists its time to get your bling on!
