Join Bonnie Fitzgerald for an unforgettable week of creativity, culture, and relaxation on Greece’s spectacular Pelion Peninsula. Hosted at the beautiful Lagou Raxi Country Hotel, this immersive retreat combines hands-on mosaic instruction with breathtaking scenery, delicious Greek cuisine, and the warm hospitality that has made this region one of Greece’s hidden treasures.

Whether you’re a beginner eager to learn or an experienced mosaic artist looking to strengthen your skills, this retreat offers the perfect balance of intensive instruction, artistic exploration, and time to soak in the beauty of the Mediterranean.

Learn the Art of Classical Stone Mosaic

Throughout the week, you’ll complete a mosaic while developing a strong foundation in classical mosaic techniques that continue to influence contemporary artists.

Working with natural marble and stone, you’ll learn:

  • Classical mosaic design principles
  • The direct method using a concrete setting bed
  • Safe and efficient stone-cutting techniques
  • Working with side nippers and traditional hand tools
  • Andamento and movement within a composition
  • Finishing techniques and fabrication methods

Instruction includes demonstrations, presentations, plenty of individual coaching, and studio time to develop your confidence at your own pace. Every participant will also complete a small practice study before beginning their primary project, ensuring a solid understanding of the materials and techniques.

All materials and tool loan are provided.

A Creative Retreat in One of Greece’s Most Beautiful Regions

Nestled between the Aegean Sea and the Pagasetic Gulf, the Pelion Peninsula is known for its crystal-clear beaches, mountain villages, olive groves, and centuries-old stone pathways. Your home for the week is the charming Lagou Raxi Country Hotel, a peaceful retreat overlooking the sea and just a short walk from the historic village of Lafkos.

When you’re not creating mosaics, you’ll enjoy opportunities to experience authentic Greek life through carefully selected excursions, traditional tavernas, relaxing beach visits, and time to unwind by the pool or explore the surrounding countryside.

The combination of exceptional studio facilities, inspiring landscapes, and authentic local culture makes this an ideal environment for artistic growth.
