INSTRUCTOR
Bonnie Fitzgerald is an artist, educator and author. She is a popular instructor of mosaic art and has taught hundreds of students throughout North America. She is the Resident Instructor of Mosaics for the Smithsonian Institution’s Studio Art Department in Washington, DC. A graduate of New College in Sarasota, Florida, Bonnie’s art studies focused on monumental sculpture and evolved into an interest in designing and creating large scale mosaic art. As an expert in the field Bonnie authored “300+ Mosaic Tips, Techniques, Templates and Trade Secrets”(Published by Trafalger Square, 2012), a technical guide offering instruction and tips on design, materials, tools and art projects. Over 50,000 copies are in print. A second book, “Bonnie Fitzgerald’s Guide to Mosaic Technique” was released in early 2015 and features artwork and expert advice from over 100 international mosaic artists. For the past 8 years Bonnie has been leading art-filled European Tours and teaches her signature one week workshop “Architectural Installations and Community Projects” at the Hacienda Mosaics in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico every January.
