Exploring Mosaics in Glass

This workshop is suited for anyone new to mosaics or folks wishing to take their work to a new level. Students can expect a great deal of personal instruction and guidance and no question will go unanswered!
Exploring Mosaics in Glass is a comprehensive workshop offering a strong foundation for constructing decorative art mosaics. Students will be introduced to several types of glass materials applicable to mosaics. On day 1 we begin with a lecture and picture presentation about contemporary glass mosaics and the role of classical mosaic techniques when working in glass. Each student will be guided through the design process to create a 10” x 10” home décor art work for interior display.
Students are welcome to bring their own designs, however instructor will have optional patterns available for those who feel more comfortable creating from an existing design.
A separate supply fee of $75 is due at the start of the workshop and covers everything you will need to complete your project including substrate, stained glass, glass tile and other enhancements, tool loan, adhesive, grout, design tools.

All welcome, stained glass cutting and/or mosaic making experience not required.
Friday, March 19 , 10am-5pm, Saturday, March 20, 10am-4pm, and Sunday, March 21, 2021 10am-noon.
THIS WORKSHOP WILL BE HELD AT MAVERICK MOSAICS’ HOME STUDIO SOCIAL DISTANCING MEASURES AS BEST WE CAN, Students separated by plexiglass. ASKING ALL TO WEAR MASKS AS APPROPRIATE. Lunch brown-bag.
