Exploring Mosaics in Glass is a comprehensive class offering a strong foundation and introduction to the wide variety of glass materials used for constructing mosaics.
No experience necessary, but for returning students this is an opportunity to take your work to a new level. Instructor will cover design, terminology, substrates, adhesives and more as you are guided through the design and creation process to create a 8” x 8” home décor piece.
You will be introduced to classical and contemporary design methods, hand tools and countless fabrication tricks. The last day your artwork is grouted and all finishing options discussed. Students are welcome to bring their own simple designs. However, if you feel more comfortable creating from an existing design, an ample selection of optional patterns and drawings will be available for you to use. Separate $55 supply fee includes all materials to complete your project and tool loan during class time.
Separate supply and suggested tool list downloadable from SI website.
If you took this class previously know that you are welcome to join us and know you will be challenged to a new level.
All welcome, stained glass cutting experience not required.
